About Karnataka TET:-

The Department of School Education, Government of Karnataka is going to conduct Teacher eligibility Test 2020. There Are Many Candidate who are willing to give this Exam. They need to know the correct exam syllabus for KARTET 2019 – 2020. So, here we have given Syllabus and exam Pattern information for the candidates.

Schedule of KARTET 2019 – 2020 Exam :

Exam Pattern:-

All questions in KARTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers of KARTET.

(i) Paper I will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes I to V.

(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intents to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Paper-I:- For classes I to V

The candidates appearing in KARTET will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% and above marks will be issued Eligibility Certificate.

STRUCTURE AND CONTENT OF KARTET-2019

All questions in KARTET test will be 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers of KARTET

Paper -I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
Paper- II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Note : A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear for both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Nature and standard of questions (Class 1 to 5)  :

  • Paper-I (for teaching classes I to V)
  • Duration of examination: Two-and-a half hours

Nature and standard of questions:

  1. The test items on Child development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
  2. The Test items in Language I will focus on the proficiency of the language related to the medium of instruction.
  3. The Test items in language II will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  4. Language II will be a language other than Language I. A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and another as Language II from the available language options and will be required to specify the same in the Confirmation Page.
  5. The Test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.
  6. In all the subject areas the questions for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT / State for classes I – VIII but their difficulty level as well as linkages, could be up to the Secondary stage.

  • Paper II (for teaching classes VI to VIII)
  • Duration of examination – Two-and-a-half hours

Nature and standard of questions

  1. The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 years.
  2. Text items will be focused on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
  3. The Test items in Language I will focus on the proficiency of the language related to the medium of instruction. The Test items in language II will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  4. Language II will be a language other than Language I. A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and other as Language II from the available language options and will be required to specify the same in the Confirmation Page.
  5. The Test items in Mathematics and Science, and Social Studies/Social Science will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. The test items of Mathematics and Science will be of 30 marks each.
  6. The questions in the test for Paper II will be based on the topics prescribed in the syllabus of the NCERT / State for classes VI – X but their difficulty level as well as linkages, could be upto the Senior Secondary stage.

LANGUAGE OF THE QUESTION PAPER

The medium of question paper other than the languages shall be in English, Kannada, Urdu, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Marati.

QUALIFYING MARKS AND AWARD OF KARTET CERTIFICATE

  • The candidates appearing in KARTET will be issued a Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% and above marks will be issued an Eligibility Certificate.
  • The candidates belonging to SC / ST / C-I, differently abled persons should secure a minimum of 55% to be eligible, in accordance with their extent in the reservation policy.
  • Qualifying the KARTET would not confer a right for recruitment employment to any person as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
